Lora, the Puppetmaster

Champion Overview

Lora is an enchanter from the Shadow Isles who was once a talented marionettist in life. After her tragic death, she awakened as a vengeful spirit who has learned to manipulate both the living and the dead. She empowers her allies by summoning spectral puppets and reanimating the fallen, wielding dark magic to manipulate enemies and flood the Rift with vengeful spirits. As a support champion, she excels at protecting her allies while overwhelming enemies with her army of supernatural minions.

Design Goals

Pet-Based Support Gameplay

I wanted to create a support champion that feels unique through minion manipulation and pet management. Players should feel like they're commanding an army of spectral helpers while still fulfilling traditional support roles of protecting and empowering allies.

Shadow Isles Fantasy

Every ability reinforces the dark necromancer fantasy through puppet summoning, death manipulation, and spectral magic. The kit should feel like wielding the power of death itself while maintaining the strategic depth expected from an enchanter.

Lora Passive: Last Breath

Passive: Last Breath

60/45/30 seconds cooldown based on level

If a champion (ally or enemy) dies near Lora, she can turn them into berserk zombies that attack nearby enemies (prioritizing champions) for 4 seconds before dying again. Zombies created by Lora will automatically seek out the nearest enemy target, preferring champions, and dealing damage to them.

Lora Q: Taking Control

Q: Taking Control

8/7/6/5/4 seconds cooldown based on level

Lora attaches a string to an enemy, dealing damage while the string is attached and allowing additional strings to be applied. The first string deals damage only, the second also slows the target, and the third roots the target while consuming all stacks and dealing bonus magic damage.

Lora W: Puppeteer

W: Puppeteer

6 seconds cooldown

Lora spawns 2 small puppets that stay near her and attack nearby enemies. She can have up to 6 puppets active at once. The puppets can block enemy spells and auto-attacks. When a puppet blocks a spell or auto-attack, it dies.

Lora E: Little Helpers

E: Little Helpers

No cooldown

Lora can send her puppets to a target ally champion or enemy unit. When cast on an ally, the puppets stay near them, blocking enemy spells and auto-attacks, then provide a shield when dying. When cast on an enemy, puppets charge toward them and attack.

Lora R: Revenge

R: Revenge

140/120/100 seconds cooldown based on level

Lora sings a haunting melody, channeling dark energies from the Shadow Isles for 7 seconds. While she sings, she gains movement speed and puppets spawn continuously in a large area around Lora, attacking all enemies in range. The maximum active puppets increase to 20 while Revenge is active. When the song is over, new puppets can only be spawned when the current amount of puppets has decreased to below 6.

Roster Gap & Target Audience

Lora fills the gap between traditional enchanters (like Janna, Soraka) and pet-based champions (like Yorick, Malzahar), bringing unique minion management mechanics to the support role.

Primary Audience: Support players who enjoy proactive gameplay and want to manage multiple units while protecting allies. Players who appreciate micro-management and strategic pet positioning, similar to fans of Heimerdinger, Zyra, or Azir.

Secondary Audience: Players looking for a unique support experience that breaks away from traditional heal/shield focused gameplay. Those who want to feel powerful through army management while still fulfilling the support role for their team.
