Gravok, the Ironbound
Champion Overview
Gravok is a tank from the Great Barrier Mountains who was part of Alistar's clan and one of the warriors cast as Reckoners. While Alistar believed all of his warriors had died during the Fleshing, Gravok survived, escaped, and now dominates the Rift with raw physical power, using the massive stone pillar he was once tied to in order to weaken and crush his enemies. He is the ultimate territory control champion, using his abilities to push enemies back and create a safe zone for his clan (team).
Design Goals
Active Tank Gameplay
I wanted to create a tank that rewards aggressive positioning and has the tools to actively disturb enemy positioning. Players should feel empowered to initiate and control team fights, especially around objectives.
Thematic Cohesion
Every ability reinforces the mountain brute fantasy through pillar-centric combat, earth-shaking impacts, and raw physical dominance. The kit should feel like wielding an unstoppable force of nature.

Passive: Raw Strength
Enemies struck by Gravok's abilities receive a stack of Weakness, reducing
their armor by a small
amount for 1 second. This effect can be extended by hitting enemies with multiple abilities
in
rapid
succession, accumulating additional stacks of Weakness.
At 3 stacks of Weakness, the enemy becomes Broken, briefly slowed and
taking
additional damage from
all sources for a short duration.

Q: Bonebreaker
Gravok smashes the stone pillar in front of him, creating a shockwave that deals damage and slows enemies. The impact leaves cracks in the earth, amplifying the effect of subsequent ability hits in the area.

W: From the Pit
Gravok uses his free hand to punch the ground, throwing dirt and debris at all enemies in front of him, dealing damage and blinding them for a short duration. Enemies already afflicted with Weakness take additional damage.

E: Round and Round
Gravok drops the pillar next to him, becoming slowed, and charges for up to 2 seconds. He then swings the pillar around him twice, knocking back and damaging enemies. The radius and damage of the swing depends on how long the ability is charged. Each enemy hit grants Gravok a stack of momentum, reducing future ability cooldowns.

R: Pure Rage
Gravok raises the stone pillar and stabs it into the ground, damaging nearby enemies. While active, Gravok is tethered to the pillar and cannot move outside the tether range or cast other abilities. He becomes enraged, gaining movement speed, tenacity, and armor. When he first collides with an enemy champion, they are knocked back. His passive now applies a stack of Weakness per auto-attack, allowing him to break any enemies who still dare to approach. When the ultimate ends, Gravok pulls the pillar toward him, stunning all enemies hit by it, and returns to neutral.
Roster Gap & Target Audience
Gravok fills the gap between pure utility tanks (like Braum, Leona) and damage-focused juggernauts (like Darius, Mordekaiser).
Primary Audience: Tank players who enjoy proactive gameplay and want to fully lean into crowd control. Players who appreciate stacking mechanics and strategic timing, similar to fans of Darius, Garen, or Ornn.
Secondary Audience: Top lane mains looking for a champion that can both initiate team fights and duel effectively. Players who want to feel powerful and imposing while still fulfilling the tank role for their team.
